HUNGARIAN STITCH

Hungarian Stitch is worked horizontally in groups of 3 vertical stitches with a one hole gap in between each group .

STEP BY STEP

To begin, bring your needle up in your canvas and take it down two horizontal threads above to create a vertical stitch. Your second stitch will be longer so bring your needle up one thread across and down one from your first stitch and make a vertical stitch over 4 horizontal threads. Make your third stitch the same length as the first over 2 horizontal threads.
Leave a one hole gap after your third stitch and then repeat to the end of your first row.
For the second row, the long middle stitches should be worked into the gaps left on the first row.
